Hi friends! We are Jerry and Elizabeth Miertschin, and we are so excited to begin this journey with Mountain Gateway! Jerry began this journey several years ago upon hearing a sermon given by Britt Hancock. This was the day he heard the call to the mission field. Upon researching Mountain Gateway further, Jerry found reassurance of the call in Matthew 9:37-38 “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” At this time, Jerry was not quite ready to jump in, as he was still working towards full surrender.

Through this process, we had both joined our church’s discipleship program called “Catalyst”. This was where we both learned to surrender to what the Lord wanted for our lives. Towards the end of this experience, we began to grow closer together and started dating. Upon dating, we discussed Jerry’s call to the Mountain Gateway training program and the possibility of becoming missionaries through that experience. We agreed that this would be the best step for us and both received confirmation that we would be going through this training. Fast forward a year, and now we are newly married and ready to jump into this calling and we are excited for what God has in store for us as individuals, for our marriage, and most importantly, the Kingdom of God.
